Kling 4.0 Release Guide: What Shipped, What Is Pending, and What to Use Now
Kuaishou's Kling announced Kling 4.0 at the end of September 2026, and it is arriving in two steps. A fast tier, Kling 4.0 Flash, opened in early access on September 28. The full model and its API are still pending, with Kling targeting October 2026. This guide separates what you can use today from what has only been announced. Last checked: 2026-10-07.
What you can use today: Kling 4.0 Flash
Flash is available inside Kling's own app to Ultra yearly subscribers. Kling lists it for text-to-video, image-to-video and Omni Reference, with output of 3 to 20 seconds at 720p in 8-bit SDR, and without multi-keyframe input. Treat it as a drafting tier: fast to iterate on, but not the final resolution.
What has been announced: the full model
| Spec | Announced for the full model |
|---|---|
| Clip length | 3 to 30 seconds per generation |
| Resolution | 1080p standard, 4K; 10-bit HDR "coming soon" |
| Keyframes | Up to 10 |
| References | Up to 15 combined, including 10 images and 5 videos |
| Audio | Two-channel stereo with improved lip sync |
| Aspect ratios | The standard set plus 21:9 |
These figures come from Kling's own 4.0 overview and are repeated by third-party coverage such as Morphic. Until the full model ships, nobody outside Kling can verify them, so read them as announced, not confirmed.
API status
There is no public Kling 4.0 API yet. Kling says the full model and the API are coming in October 2026, but it has not published a date or API pricing. If you are planning a pipeline around Kling 4.0, budget time to test it again once it lands.
Is Kling 4.0 on Imgo?
No. Kling 4.0 is not integrated into Imgo and has no Imgo credit price; Imgo lists a model only once it can be generated end to end. Until then, Seedance 2.0 is live in Imgo's video generator, with clips of up to 15 seconds, image, video and audio references, and native audio. The live model list shows everything you can generate right now.
How it compares
Seedance 2.5 is the other 30-second model in this class, and it is not switched on in Imgo yet either. Our Kling 4.0 vs Seedance 2.5 comparison sets out both statuses and the published specs side by side.
