Ensure headers display correctly everywhere
A newsletter header has one second to say "this is worth opening" β and it has to say it every week without becoming wallpaper. A series, not a one-off, is the format that works.
Pick the constants first: format ratio (most templates want 16:9 or 3:1), a palette anchored to your brand colors, and a recurring motif β one object family, one illustration style, one lighting signature. The variables are the topic of the week: the product, the season, the subject. The prompts in this series expose exactly those as bracketed variables, so week forty still looks like week one.
Generate the header plate with clean space where the issue title goes β the top third, or the left half β and set the title in your email tool. That keeps it editable when the subject changes, crisp at 1Γ on retina, and translatable. Generated text in a header is a trap: it renders once and then you cannot fix a typo without a re-run.
Generate each week's header in two variants: the feature (the issue's hero topic) and the fallback (your motif with the palette only). When a week runs short, the fallback ships and the series never breaks rhythm. Consistency of cadence matters more than any single header.
Email clients crop and scale aggressively. Generate the master at 16:9 (1200 Γ 675 is the workhorse size), keep the motif readable inside the central 80%, and test the crop at 600 px wide β that is the honest preview of a phone inbox.
A weekly header used to be a 30-minute design chore or a stock-photo compromise. Now it is one prompt with last week's constants and this week's subject β the series stays on-brand by construction, because the brand lives in the constants of the prompt, not in anyone's memory.
1200 Γ 675 at 16:9 is the workhorse size β wide enough for desktop templates, still readable when email clients crop on mobile. Keep the motif inside the central 80% and test the crop at 600 px wide, which is the honest preview of a phone inbox.
No β set it in your email tool over clean space the prompt leaves for it. That keeps the title editable when the subject changes, crisp at 1Γ on retina, and translatable. Generated text locks a typo in place until the next full re-run.
Fix the constants and vary the subject. The series prompts hold ratio, brand palette, motif family and lighting as constants, and expose only the weekly topic as a variable β so week forty still looks like week one, by construction rather than memory.
Every series in this method has a fallback frame: the motif with the palette only, no weekly subject. Generate it once with the constants and reuse it β cadence is what makes a header series feel professional, and an on-brand fallback beats a skipped week.
