Video model comparison
Seedance 2.0 vs Seedance 2 Fast
Same model family, same inputs, same native audio, the same six aspect ratios and 5–15 second clips. What separates them is the ceiling and the bill: Seedance 2.0 renders up to 4K, while Fast stops at 720p and costs about 55% of 2.0's per-second rate at 720p. The usual answer is both — draft in Fast, finish in 2.0.
Every figure below is read from Imgo's model registry, the same specs requests are validated against, so the table cannot drift from them. Being in the registry is not the same as being live: the availability note says which models can be generated today.

Choose Seedance 2 Fast when…
You are still finding the shot: testing hooks, framings and aspect ratios, producing a batch of social variants, or iterating on a prompt and reference set. 720p is enough for review and for most feeds, and each try costs a little over half as much.
Choose Seedance 2.0 when…
The take is final and needs 1080p or 4K, or the extra fidelity the full model keeps. Bring the prompt, frames and references you settled in Fast — the inputs are identical, so nothing has to be rewritten.
Draft in Fast, finish in 2.0
- 1
Generate several short takes in Fast at 480p or 720p and keep the composition and motion that work.
- 2
Lock the prompt, references, aspect ratio and duration. The generator quotes the credits before every run.
- 3
Switch the model to Seedance 2.0 with the same inputs for the final render — at 1080p or 4K if the channel needs it.
Two things worth knowing first
- On both models, reference images cannot be combined with start or end frames, and an end frame needs a start frame. Plan each request around frames or references, not both.
- Fast's rate is Imgo's estimate until Volcengine publishes an official one, and Imgo publishes no render-time figure for either model. The live credit quote in the generator is the price source of truth; if speed decides it, time a small batch yourself.
Seedance 2.0 vs Seedance 2 Fast: FAQ
- What is the difference between Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2 Fast?
- Inputs, durations, aspect ratios and native audio are identical in Imgo's model registry. Seedance 2.0 renders from 480p to 4K; Fast renders at 480p or 720p, gives up a little fidelity, and costs about 55% of 2.0's per-second rate at 720p.
- Is Seedance 2 Fast lower quality?
- Slightly, by design: it trades a bit of fidelity for the lower price, and it cannot render above 720p. For drafts, review cuts and most social feeds that is rarely the deciding factor; for a hero shot or a large screen, render the final take in Seedance 2.0.
- How much cheaper is Seedance 2 Fast?
- At 720p, Fast is billed at about 55% of Seedance 2.0's per-second rate, and the ratio is similar at 480p. Fast's rate is an estimate until Volcengine publishes official pricing. The generator shows the exact credit quote before each run.
- Do both models generate audio?
- Yes. Both generate native audio with the picture, on by default, and both accept up to 3 reference audio tracks. Switch audio off when you will add your own voiceover or music.
- Can I move a prompt from Fast to Seedance 2.0?
- Yes, unchanged. Both models take the same inputs, so a prompt, frame pair or reference set tuned in Fast renders in Seedance 2.0 once you switch the model.
