Nano Banana 2 Virtual Try-On Prompts
Two try-on prompts — a garment on a model, and the same garment across body types — with the reference images each one needs and the checks that keep cut, print, and fit honest.
How to use these prompts
The problem
A try-on image is a product claim. If the model smooths a print, shortens a hem, or changes a neckline, the picture misrepresents what the customer will receive, which is worse than having no on-model image at all.
The method
Give the model two references: the garment shot flat or on a ghost mannequin, front-facing with the whole piece in frame, and the person you want it on, used with permission. Name the details that must not change: cut, length, print scale, closures, logo position. For different sizes, show how the fabric drapes and stretches on each figure rather than scaling one body. Use a plain studio background for lookbooks and catalogs; for ads, add the scene only after the fit is approved.
Prompts to copy and adapt
Garment on a model
Dress the person in the second reference image in the exact garment from the first reference image. Preserve the garment's cut, length, neckline, sleeve shape, fabric texture, print scale, closures, and [garment detail] exactly. Keep the person's face, body shape, skin tone, hair, and pose unchanged. Fit the garment naturally, with realistic folds and tension at [fit points]. Plain [background color] studio background, soft even light, full-length framing. No added accessories, text, or logos.
- Model and input
- Nano Banana 2. Attach two images in this order: the garment as a flat lay or on a ghost mannequin (front view, whole piece visible), then a full-length photo of a model you have permission to use.
- Suggested aspect ratio
- 2:3 for full length; 4:5 for upper body
- Replace these variables
- [garment detail], [fit points], [background color]
- Best for
- Shopify · Lookbooks and catalogs · Etsy
- Check the result
- Compare the garment with the flat lay seam by seam — length, neckline, print scale, logo position — then confirm the face and body are the same person, not an idealised version.
Same garment across body types
Show the exact garment from the reference on [number] models with different body types: [body types]. Keep every garment detail identical across them — cut, color, print scale, and [garment detail] — while letting the fabric drape, stretch, and fall the way it really would on each figure. Same pose, same [background color] studio background, same lighting, consistent full-length framing side by side. Each figure is a distinct person, not one body scaled up or down. No text or logos.
- Model and input
- Nano Banana 2. Attach the garment reference; add one model reference per figure when the same people must reappear across the catalog.
- Suggested aspect ratio
- 16:9 side by side; 4:5 per figure
- Replace these variables
- [number], [body types], [garment detail], [background color]
- Best for
- Lookbooks and catalogs · Shopify · Website and landing pages
- Check the result
- Check that it is the same garment on every figure, and that fit differences look like real fabric behaviour rather than a stretched or shrunk copy of one body.
